Optimal control technology for any type of gas engine

The KRONOS 20 is an electronically controlled mixture control system for adjusting speed-dependent and load-dependent lambda values in order to achieve ideal engine behaviour under all operating conditions. In the various closed loop versions, engine power, lambda or NOx sensors can be used as feedback signals to automatically correct fluctuations in gas quality and engine load. The main application areas are natural and biogas engines, which are supplied by a zero pressure controller.

For system configuration please provide application specific information: Order Information.

Ideal engine behaviour under all operating conditions

  • Electronical Gas Valves

    Electronical Gas Valves

The electronically controlled E-LES gas valves are ideal for gas engines. Driven by a stepper motor, they are available both with (E-LES LC) and without (E-LES SMC) Lambda Control. They are installed in the gas line downstream of the zero pressure regulator and connected to the inlet of the gas mixer. They can be used to set and trim the required gas volume very precisely in any operating state.
  • Gas Mixer

    Gas Mixer

Gas mixers are indispensable components in gas engine air fuel ratio control systems. They ensure the desired ratio of fuel gas and air regardless of the operating conditions.
  • Lambda Control

    Lambda Control

The KRONOS 20 AFR control unit is part of the KRONOS 20 electronic mixture formation system, in which the lambda values can be determined within a certain range depending on the speed/load. This improves the engine behaviour under all operating conditions. In the closed control loop, the lambda values are adjusted using a power signal or an exhaust gas sensor. Step-type sensors, broadband sensors and NOx sensors can all be used. Any fluctuations in the ambient conditions (e.g. gas quality and gas pressure) are fully compensated.
