Optimal control technology for any type of diesel engine

Over the decades, diesel engines were a symbol of uncompromising performance, reliability and economy. The technological advancements in new generations of diesel engines have put a great deal of pressure on operators of older engines in all types of application as they strive to keep pace with the higher efficiency and better operating characteristics of newer units without significant investments. HEINZMANN has developed a flexible and cost-efficient retrofit solution to address this issue.

Converting a conventional, plug-in pump based injection system to E-PPN does not require any special effort. Only minor modifications to the engine itself are generally required. The electronically controlled injection valve can be adapted to practically any fuel injection pump using corresponding adapters. A large power range up to 350 kW per cylinder is covered. Due to the modified connection geometry, only the high-pressure pipe has to be adapted. The injector remains unchanged. The solution is suitable for a wide range of different engines thanks to the high system flexibility.

    LAVINIA, the electronically controlled E-PPN (Electronic Pump Pipe Nozzle) system, has been designed as an extension for existing mechanical injection systems. It centres around a magnetically actuated control valve that is integrated into the high-pressure fuel line in diesel engines. Fuel injection timing and quantity are precisely determined. Thanks to its modular design, it can be easily combined with existing high-pressure pumps and injectors from a wide range of manufacturers.
