HEINZMANN-Gruppe unterstützt die Schifffahrtsbranche mit innovativen Lösungen

Schönau, September 2024 - The HEINZMANN Group returns to the prestigious SMM trade fair in Hamburg, the world’s leading event for shipbuilding and marine technology, now joined by HEINZMANN UK. Visitors can explore cutting-edge technologies at Hall A3, Stand 309, where the globally active family-owned business will showcase innovations in Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), Engine Control & Monitoring, and Air Path Management for marine engines.

As the shipping industry faces surging energy prices and increasingly stringent emission regulations, the demand for innovative and efficient solutions has never been greater. The HEINZMANN Group is at the forefront of this transformation, offering advanced control technologies that enhance efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions. Whether through modular designs or fully integrated systems, HEINZMANN supports its partners and customers in meeting regulatory standards and conserving resources. The HEINZMANN Group draws on individual business expertise to create a full range of Methanol oriented products.

GIRO Engineering and HEINZMANN UK support OEMs in decarbonisation
GIRO Engineering and HEINZMANN UK are fully committed to the development of their product portfolio and to playing a full part in the HEINZMANN Group dedication to support OEM engine builders through the exciting decarbonisation transition.

Sheathed fuel injection pipes (Methanol)
Methanol’s time is now. As such GIRO has been able to develop with a leading OEM engine builder, a series of sheathed Methanol fuel injection pipes (image 1) that are suitable for use with the HEINZMANN PFI Methanol Injector. GIRO’s expertise in fuel injection and pipe bending means that they are ideally placed to assist in the design and manufacture of these specialist decarbonising products. The new product is designed to work specifically with Methanol and offers the ability to monitor the pipe annulus with an entirely separate medium; the inner pipe chamber is separate from the pipe annulus. GIRO are able to assist in your Methanol fuelled piping requirements.

Methanol Fuel Supply Skid
HEINZMANN U.K.’s design and innovation team have developed a system that is modular by nature and designed to condition, monitor and meter Methanol fuel to ensure correct temperature and pressure fluid is supplied to marine engines. It caters for engine start to 100% load including acceleration and deceleration. A control panel monitors the parameters and controls the skid. A programmable logic controller can be integrated into the main control system and customized to variable tasks including fuel supply mapping. Expert knowledge of such modules has enabled the experienced team to advance a proven concept into products that will aid the pursuit for decarbonisation. A range of mediums and different pressure requirements is possible through this range of products (image 2).

HEINZMANN IFT introduces advanced Oil Mist Separators for OCV and CCV
As reducing emissions and compliance with legal requirements is becoming increasingly important, more innovative solutions for crankcase ventilation are needed. HEINZMANN IFT therefore offers stand-alone separators for passive crankcase ventilation which are setting new standards in their field of operation. Further, to provide optimal solutions for future needs, active ventilation systems have been added to the portfolio which can be used for OCV and CCV equally. Precise pressure control inside the crankcase combined with an outstanding separator lifetime make this product a must-have solution for various applications. As a result, maintenance costs for the product itself and downstream engine components are greatly reduced, leading to significant savings in terms of life cycle costs (image 3).

HEINZMANN unveils StG EC Series of advanced brushless actuators for enhanced control of air and exhaust functions in modern marine engines
The diversity of functions in the air/exhaust path has continuously increased over the past decades. Wastegate, compressor bypass, and EGR valves, as well as different throttle valves, are part of the standard equipment of the most modern engines both individually and in combination, and they require a suitable drive in the form of an actuator. The requirements for torque, dynamic behaviour, permissible operating temperature, and vibrations vary greatly depending on the function and type of application.

Multiplied by the variety of engine series and the high number of variants within each series, this results in an extremely broad requirement matrix that engine OEMs must consider and address in development and throughout the entire product lifecycle. To address all the aforementioned challenges and support the platform approach of engine manufacturers, HEINZMANN launch a new product line of actuators (image 4).
